JSI Vice President Cynthia Herriott will introduce a Medications for Substance Use Disorder (MSUD) implementation toolkit designed to assist healthcare providers and organizations in effectively implementing MSUD programs. The toolkit will include resources such as evidence-based guidelines, best practices, and practical tools to address common challenges and ensure successful program implementation.

JSI Associate Amy Miles will explore the role of testing in monitoring adherence to MOUD for individuals with OUD. It will discuss different types of testing (e.g., urine drug screens, breathalyzers), their limitations, and the importance of balancing patient privacy with the need for accountability in achieving treatment goals.

In this presentation, JSI Co-President Judge Brian MacKenzie (Ret.) and Vice President Chief Mack Jenkins will provide a comprehensive overview of MOUD Program Components that include: A detailed examination of medication management, counseling services, and supportive social services as essential elements of a successful MOUD program. They will continue the discussion providing ways on how combining medical, psychological, and social interventions addresses the diverse needs of individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Finally, they will give practical guidance on incorporating these components into your MOUD program to optimize effectiveness and improve patient outcomes. The session is sponsored by Indivior.
