Is Your Court at Risk? Exploring the Consequences of Disability Act Lawsuits by the U.S. Department of Justice Regarding Medications for Opioid Use Disorder

During this session, attendees will learn about the litigation undertaken by the U.S. Department of Justice and the American Civil Liberty Union against court agencies and businesses that restrict or bar the use of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). JSI Co-President Judge Brian MacKenzie (Ret.) will cover why judges and other judicial professionals should not practice medicine–it is a medical decision that must be made by medical professionals.
